Hello all! We will be having an orientation for the new members of Rotaract Club.

Attire : Casual wear and sports shoes(no slippers as there may be outdoor game that require u to run)

There will be delicious food provided !

1. RECYCLE PROJECT BY SP LEO CLUB

Leo Club of Singapore Polytechnic is helping in organizing a Recycle Project which the aim is to raise fund for Clementi Student Service Centre, a centre for students from low income families which will provide them with a conducive study environment. The money raised will go in helping them run their activities and programs.

Date: 11th October 2009

2. STANDARD CHARTERED MARATHORN

This year's SCM will be on the 6th of December, so we could be part of SCM either on the actual day or during the preparation period (which is before 6 Dec)...

Here are some reasons why you should join SCM as a volunteer...

First, You get extrinsically motivated by the monetary rewards that SCM offers you as a volunteer

Viz twenty bucks and an new balance voucher for the volunteering opportunities

Sounds ironic huh, but SCM is really paying their volunteers for volunteering their services...

December Events!

In December, Rotaract Club of Nanyang Polytechnic will be having two volunteering events. Hope that you guys can have fun and participate in it. It will definitely be very meaningful.

1st event: Window_To_Literacy Christmas Party cum Graduation

MCYC's Window_To_Literacy Christmas Party cum Graduation has over 60 students who have border-line learning difficulties. Yet, these students give their best efforts in trying to cope with school-work and some even make progress in their academic results. This annual event does not only celebrate the spirit of giving, but we also want to celebrate the achievements of these students who made the effort and have succeeded.

Volunteers will be helping in 2 main areas:
1. Pre-programme Logistics: Packing and wrapping of gifts, administrative areas like preparing invites and registration forms / lists, etc.
2. Actual Day Programme: Decorations, moving of logistics, facilitating of programmes.

Details of the event:
Date: 12 December 2008 (Friday)
Time: 7pm - 930pm*
Venue: Bukit Batok Community Club
Age of children: 4 to 14 years old

*Volunteers may need to come in earlier to help with other areas prior to the programme, such as putting up decorations.

2nd event: Christmas Party for Bukit Batok

This year, Oasis153 will be celebrating Christmas with the residents of Bukit Batok. There will be food and games stalls for the residents to relish in the joy of Christmas.

Volunteers will be helping in:
Ushering, manning of game booths and/or registration tables, etc.

Date: 20 December 2008 (Saturday)
Time: 4pm - 930pm
Venue: Bukit Batok Community Club

Clementi Service Centre

Another successful event.

Our club was invited to help out for Rotaract club of Singapore Polytechnic with their project. Basically we had to help them with the cleaning up of the clementi student service centre and help to spray the TIO2. TIO2 is actually a chemical that is produced from Rotarian Koh’s company that is perfectly safe. TIO2 is sprayed on the walls, tables, chairs and even the toilets. When the light shines upon these surfaces, the TIO2 reacts by killing the germs and bacteria thus making the place rid of germs and bacteria. So that’s we did for the first day. We got down and dirty(ok, maybe not dirty). Our club also contributed to its fund raising project by purchasing tiles. These tiles were to be decorated on “pasted” on the wall outside of the student service centre.

The 2nd day was the opening day for this event. Security was pretty tight due to the fact that our Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong was the Guest-of-Honour for the event. Even us, the volunteers, had to get our bags checked before entering the premises. Soon the event started off with the arrival of Mr Lee and ended with photo-taking.

Overall it was a pleasant and successful event. The photos for this event will be uploaded soon too. So stay tuned!

It was time for our monthly MCYC foster parenting(FP) program at the grassroots club again. I am glad to say that there were a couple of new members joining us. The day started off with the usual briefing with FP coordinator mary then the registration. I personally was involved with the registration together with some others and we had fun looking at the kids holding their foster parents hands or being carried by their foster parents and anxiously waiting for the registration to be over so that they can go ahead and play with the volunteers and their friends. After this we went join the respective groups to continue with our duty for the day which was to play and interact with the kids. We had a blast playing and having tea break together. Despite the age difference between the members and the kids, I can definitely say that we enjoyed each other’s company.

So to all those members who wish to have fun with these kids join us at the next FP program. Cheers, International Service Director-Roshini!

RAC NYP Installation 2007

The new batch of Board of Director 07-08 had their first round of Club Installation, which held on 3 of Aug @ NYP, E308.

As the theme was Masquerade, there was an array of exotic and colourful mask around..

We were very honoured to have Rotarian Wolf,President of our sponsoring club, Rotary Club of Queenstown.

Also joined us in gracing the event, sister clubs from Rotaract Club of Queenstown, Rotaract Club of Singapore Poly. We also have Rotaract Club of Singapore West in da house! Not forgetting, our very own members of Rotaract Club of Nanyang Polytechnic. :)

Quite a blast event with all the happening music, thx to StageArts Theatre Management team & NYP Live Audio. Also NYP Harmonica start the evening with melodious performance.

And it goes... the normal induction & installation event, superb dinner and fellowships goin around.. :)

On behalf of the BOD 07/08, we would like to thank to all, who took the time and effort off in helping and gracing the event.
